Vegan Week One : Success

I did good during my first Vegan week. I didn’t crave what I thought I was going to crave. My weight dropped 5 lbs and I feel like I have more energy. I don’t feel as tired during the day as I am used to.

Kellogg’s All Bran Cereal

Why does the US formula of Kellogg’s All Bran cereal have high fructose corn syrup in it, but the UK formula does not?

US Ingredient List

WHEAT BRAN, SUGAR, HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP, MALT FLAVORING, CALCIUM PHOSPHATE, CALCIUM CARBONATE, SALT, SODIUM ASCORBATE AND ASCORBIC ACID (VITAMIN C), REDUCED IRON, NIACINAMIDE, PYRIDOXINE HYDROCHLORIDE (VITAMIN B6), RIBOFLAVIN (VITAMIN B2), FOLIC ACID, THIAMIN HYDROCHLORIDE (VITAMIN B1), VITAMIN A PALMITATE, VITAMIN B12 AND VITAMIN D.

UK Ingredient List

Wheat Bran (87%), Sugar, Barley Malt Flavouring, Salt, Niacin, Iron, Vitamin B6, Riboflavin (B2), Thiamin (B1), Folic Acid, Vitamin D, Vitamin B12.

Thank you for your recent email regarding HFCS in Kellogg’s® All-Bran® cereal, we are happy to provide the following information.

Because we respect your opinion and those of our other loyal consumers, we have begun to remove HFCS from more cereals. The sugar replacing the HFCS will vary from product to product and the total grams of sugar may or may not change.
