It was ten years ago this month that I worked at ADS during USSB’s basics migration to DirecTV. It was really bad - all the customers did was call us and yell at us. We would respond, “Yes, but we reduced your monthly fee from $34.95 to $32.99.” And they would say, “That’s it?!” Little did we know that this marked the beginning of the end for USSB. Soon after that, their entire operation was sold to DirecTV. As consolation, we did get this nifty (made in the USA surprisingly) thermos. It really didn’t work ten years ago. It doesn’t really work now. How I’ve managed not to lose it after all this time is nothing short of amazing.
So, a big shot-out to the former ADS people who endured a couple months of mental trauma that was the USSB Basics Migration.
