Well, I’m not looking for a second job if that’s what you’re thinking.

Now that we own our home, we’re putting together a list of small things that we think will make our living space not only greener, but more comfortable. One of the items we’re currently considering is a Daylighting system.

Daylighting systems are a great, environmentally friendly way to bring pure, natural light into your home. A Daylighting system captures sunlight on the rooftop and redirects it down a reflective tube into interior spaces. The tubing will fit between rafters and will install easily with no structural modification. At the ceiling level, an attractive diffuser spreads the light evenly throughout the room.

The places that we’ve identified in our house that could really benefit from this type of system are:

Kitchen

Hallway (between dining room and laundry room)

Hallway (between bathroom & nursery)

Of course, monetary inducements are always part of the equation when considering to undertake any home improvement project. That said, qualified Daylighting systems qualify for the Federal Government’s tax credit which is equal to 30% of the price, up to $1,500.

I’ve requested an in-home consultation. Let’s see what happens …
