As a California resident, I would be willing to join in a class action suit as well. I have had an incident in which the posted transactions were delayed in order to post in a single day. I understand the argument about fiscal responsibility regarding overdrafts. What my problem is that the system deliberately charged me for five overdraft charges when there was only one. This is a deliberate manufactured revenue stream for Chase and is unscrupulous. I believe they have overstepped their legal rights and wish them to rescind this deliberate dishonest practice. I believe the courts are the only way to do this, as cyber stooges and lobbyists currently serve their interests in the public and political forum.

I really want to join your class action against Chase Bank. Today, 6/9/10 after requesting a new card, because my old one is going to expire this month, i recieved a new card with the old expiration date on it. So i called Chase Bank to find out why this happened. Chase in their Omnipitent discretion has decided to cancel my account after 5 years, because I dont carry enough credit. This seems I\illegal though i am not a lawyer and i am still carrying a 150$ ballance on my card. I am so frustrated i want to find the board of directors and exact revenge though i have no idea how to go about finding them. ahhh. Got that out of my system. But, i feel this is totally unfair. I fear for the others in America, my home and first love, are suffering the same fate. I did have one late payment in december that was a computer error on the part of chase, which they are saying is not the reason i am not being issued another card. HELP ME PLEASE...

So...I have been a WaMu customer for years... THen Chase buys them out. I thought that there was no issue here. I only use WaMu (now Chase) for checking and savings. Last week, before payday, I went to use my check card, and it was declined. I rushed home to check my balance (which I thought was over $1000) and found that I had no money...I was actually overdrawn. I looked back into my account and found a mysterious "account transfer" of almost $700, and then several overdraft fees totalling over $300.

When I called Chase's customer service, they said that they didn't know what the transfer was, but that I shoudl call another toll free number during business hours... so I did. This morning, I called the toll free number and a gruff, rude woman answered. I gave her my account number, and she asked if I wanted to discuss my account, or my closed account. I was confused, as I have only one account.- she hung up on me! I called back and got this very rude and shrill man, next... I then had to give him my social security number. I asked why there was this mysterious transfer, and he told me it was from an account that was closed back in 2007, that needed to be brought current.

I explained to the guy that I really don't remember having an account with Chase, but he explained it was an account with WaMu that was left overdrawn. He then told me that I am a "Big Boy" and I should know my finances better... I then explained to him that there was no notice of this "transfer" and that the "transfer" has caused me to be overdrawn, which accrued charges. He said it was my fault for not paying the overdrawn account... Now I am no genius, but I don't think that it is legal for a bank to take money without notice, and then charge for the overdraft fees that the unkown withdrawl causes. I explained to the rude guy that if I owe the money, I have no problem paying it, I would just like to do so on my terms, and I would certainly like to make finacnial arrangements so that I don't accrue overdraft fees...the guy transfered me to customer care...

How is this legal? How can the bank take money without notice, and then charge you for over drafting, when you didn't even know that the money was gone? I don't even know if the bank account in question is real? they won't provide me anything on it... hwo is this legal?
