How to shop at Wal-Mart …

  1. Drive to Wal-Mart.
  2. Drive around the parking lot 2 or 3 times to look for an empty space not taken up by shopping carts.
  3. Park.
  4. Walk into the store.
  5. Walk back out of the store to get a shopping cart. You’ll only find them scattered about in the parking lot. Fhagettabout a basket. You will take a cart and you will like it.
  6. Throw away the rotten banana peel and/or McDonald’s garbage left in the cart.
  7. Start to push the cart. You will probably notice one of the wheels doesn’t work. So, repeat steps 5 through 7 until you find a cart that works and doesn’t have sticky stuff all over it.
  8. Place goods in the cart.
  9. Go to the cash registers. Don’t be scared. Even though there are 30 cash registers, there will only be 2 open. So, you’ll only have to choose between the really long line or the really, really long line.
  10. Wait.
  11. Wait.
  12. Wait.
  13. Wait.
  14. Wait.
  15. Oh crap, the cashier’s light is blinking now. The cashier needs a CSM. You’ll be there forever!
  16. Wait.
  17. Wait.
  18. Wait.
  19. Wait.
  20. Wait.
  21. Oh great, it’s your turn. Put your goods up on the counter along with your no-longer-frozen frozen foods. Those Lean Cuisine Dinners (good though they may be) defrost in a hurry when you’re standing in line for 45 minutes. God, I hope you didn’t buy ice cream …
  22. Pay the cashier. Try not to laugh when the little pin pad asks, “Was your store clean today? Yes or No.”
  23. Take the goods out to your car.
  24. Drive home, exhausted and devout in your promise to yourself to never set foot in Wal-Mart again.

I thought that this was brilliant! What was so funny is that i had pretty much this same exact experience. It was around Easter weekend, it didnt take that long to get the stuff that we needed but my mother and i stood in line for 45 minutes, mind you both of us have a bad back. At one point while we were waiting in line my mother had to go to the bathroom, unfortunatly the bathroom was closed for “cleaning”, even though no one was in there cleaning it. Also any time that i was forced to take my daughter to the bathroom in wal-mart it was absolutely filthy. It was like a huge wet shaggy dog had tried to shake himself dry! I also feel that i need to mention that on our “journey” through wal-mart we heard at least 4 employees say under their breath how screwed up wal-mart was, and how they are always told that “its just company policy.” I truely feel that the employees hate wal-mart just as much as the customers do. What’s sad is that i really used to like wal-mart, but not anymore! Give me Target any day of the week! I just wish that i had a super target near me!

I live in Texas, I live four miles from a super center, the only other grocery store is Market Basket. They are five times the price on everything. So I pretty much have to shop at wal-mart. I (really bad cuse word) hate wal-mart but what else am i to do. I don’t make that much money to shop at The local mom-pop place.

Walmart has HORRIBLE online shopping and DECEPTIVE PRACTICES. On November 13, 2008, I placed an order online to purchase a Nintendo Wii bundle that had everything I desired for the price of $499 (Customer Choice Bundle). After the order was placed, it was cancelled without ANY notification that there was any problem. I did NOT receive any notification when placing the order that something did not match and I did NOT receive an email later saying there was a problem. Over a week later when I went to view the shipping arrival dates, since there had been ZERO communication, I discover it was cancelled the same day of placement. Again, I had NO notice. That was order no. 2677399505216.

I tried to purchase the system again, but that bundle was NO longer available. I found one that was NOT as good and tried again. Since the Discover order had been cancelled, I used my Visa card. on November 25, 2008, the date I discovered through my own means since there was NO notification, that the original order was cancelled. Guess what happened – it was cancelled but again secretly. I get no warning when placing the order and NO emails letting me know. I go back and look – cancelled. So I talk with a warm body on line and try again,. You can guess — the same thing happened. It tells us both that the order is processing then over 30 minutes later cancels it.

I in the mean time had verified ALL credit info in your system AND tried a VISA card thinking maybe Discover had a problem. I also called Discover who acknowledged that there was a pending authorization and that all was GOOD on their end. They verified that I had PLENTY OF $9000 credit available and that there was NO problem on their end.

To mitigate the damages created, I also went to Amazon and placed an order using that same Discover and you know what happened? Amazon AND the third party vendor selling part of the package had NO problem. I have part of the order already sitting in my office.

    So what is the problem?

    1. Failure of Wal-Mart to notify of cancellation to allow customer to find alternate product.
    2. Suggestion MORE than once by customer service personnel that the transaction WOULD work if I just used a Wal-Mart card. Someone, I think that is dishonest
    3. Replacement of the bundle was NOT possible and the bundle purchased cost $300 more in order to come close to the bundle first offered at Wal-Mart.
    4. Failure to provide customer with THEIR own credit information – I get answers that “some part of your credit information did not pass our system” but “we cannot tell you what or why.” So you deny my card, suggest I use YOUR card and then keep secret the reason why???????????????????????

Sad to say but you missed a step in your How to shop at Wall-Mart.
After paying the cashier your hard earned money, you’re then stopped at the door by the door lady wanting to see your receipt and checking your cart for contraband. Then you go to your car feeling that you just paid Wall-Mart to treat you like a petty thief.

First trip to Wal Mart – a purple car sits right in front of the entrance with four flat tires while four people with NASCAR shirts and mullets stand there and ponder what to do. In the store, the aisles are so crowded that obese and hygiene-challenged customers run into you while their children run around and scream. You finally find what you need with no help from an employee. You try to check out and wait in line while the cashier chats up a friend. Then, as noted before, an old guy at the exit checks your cart. Ugh. Never again.

HAHAHA. LOL. Very good, Laurie. True. Sooooooooooooooooooo true!
